As you may know, after a long notice and comment process, new Title IX Regulations (“Regulations”) were issued by the U.S. Department of Education (“Department”) on May 6, 2020. On Friday, July 31, 2020, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (“PSBA”) issued its recommendations for policy updates resulting from the Regulations which become effective on August 14, 2020. PSBA stated “the 14th date is looming, and although policy is important, the most critical element of compliance to focus on is to designate staff and acquire the appropriate training to get the Title IX process right.”
