At the age of fourteen, Kim Yinger told her friend that she wanted to work for a law firm someday. That dream became a reality, and at the age of nineteen, she started working for Stock and Leader, Attorneys at Law. Fast forward forty-three years later and after holding many positions at the firm, Kim retired as the Human Resources manager from Stock and Leader in December 2019.
Kim graduated from Eastern York High School, where she took Latin, shorthand, and typing to prepare her to work for a law firm. After graduation, she attended Hagerstown National Legal Secretarial School, where she earned an Associate’s Degree and graduated with the fastest shorthand speed of 180 words per minute.
Stock and Leader credits Kim as the first person to be trained on a computer at Stock and Leader. As the versatile word processor for the entire firm, she worked for many attorneys and in various practice groups. Up until her retirement, Kim utilized shorthand for staff reviews and interviews.
A Stock and Leader Attorney once told Kim, “Just do your best,” a motto Kim still lives by today. Managing Partner Ronald Hershner states Kim has “been an advocate of our core values by delivering quality legal services, maintaining the highest ethical standards, supporting our community, and caring for each other in our Stock and Leader Family. We wish Kim the best in the next chapter of her life. “
