The Partners of Stock and Leader are pleased to announce that Steven M. Hovis has been unanimously elected as the firm’s next Managing Partner. Ronald L. Hershner, who served as Managing Partner for the last ten years, stepped down on February 28, 2021.
Ron stated, “Steve cares deeply about our great law firm and will bring new energy and vision to build on our current successes. He and I have been collaborating on the transition for several months now, and I am confident the firm is in the hands of a great leader.”
Ron returns to the full-time practice in Stock and Leader’s Business, Real Estate, and Estate practices and remains a member of the firm’s Management Committee.
When asked about his incoming role, Steve expressed, “I would like to thank Ron for his exceptional leadership over the past ten years, especially in 2020. I have never been prouder of our attorneys and staff and their continued focus on what we refer to as unrivaled service. Steve joined the firm in 1990 and currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee. He practices public finance, municipal law, employment law, and real estate development. Steve is a recognized member of the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and Syracuse University, Steve is the Immediate Past Chair of the WellSpan Health Board of Directors. Among the numerous boards he has served, he is a past chair for Downtown York and the American Heart Association – South Central Pennsylvania.
