From volunteer mentor to Big Brother of the Year to Board President, School Law Attorney Gareth Pahowka certainly knows what it takes to make an impact in the lives of Central PA’s young people.
After spending over 11 years as a volunteer mentor and being named Pennsylvania’s Big Brother of the Year in 2014, Gareth is a perfect fit to lead the Big Brothers Big Sisters York and Adams Counties chapter as Board President.
In his new role, he will be responsible for pioneering various strategic efforts such as volunteer recruitment, program development, and corporate partnership initiatives that work to fulfill the organization’s mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better.
A former public school educator, Attorney Pahowka is a member of the firm’s School Law Group counseling school districts on matters including labor and employment, special education, gifted education, student discipline, tax assessment, civil rights, and the Right-to-Know Law.
