We congratulate Attorney Jane Schussler on her retirement from Stock and Leader. Jane started in the family law section at Stock and Leader in 1983. After practicing for more than 36 years, Jane has become one of the most influential female attorneys in York County. Throughout her years of practice, Jane served as a role model and mentor to women attorneys and was very active in the York legal community, chairing the Family Law section of the York County Bar Association. Jane also mentored high school girls interested in legal careers through the Leadership York Future Leaders of York program.
Jane’s service to the community includes the Boards of the YWCA York, Dollars for Scholars of South Western School District, and the Children’s Home of York. She is the former President of the Board of Directors to both the Byrnes Health Education Center and Turning Point Counseling & Advocacy Center.
Her advocacy for women and the community continues today as she is a Board member of the Turning Point Counseling and Advocacy Center, Pappus House and a member of Rotary Club of York and the York County Community Foundation Women’s Giving Circle.
In 2014, Jane was the first and only York attorney to win the prestigious York Athena Award, presented annually to a woman in the community who exhibits the qualities of outstanding leadership, professional excellence, community service and is influential in assisting other women in attaining those qualities.
Jane, congratulations on your lifetime career of accomplishments. We applaud your efforts as a role model for women professionals. We wish you all the best in your retirement!
