“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other” – John F. Kennedy
When Attorney Sarah Doyle enrolled in Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program in September 2017, she wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
As a person already serving on several local boards, she thought she had a pretty good handle on what it takes to be a leader in the community.
But as she quickly discovered, the program isn’t just about leadership – it’s about connections, too.
“The Leadership York Training program provides unmatched exposure to other people in the community who care a great deal about York County and the future of York,” Doyle said following her May 16 graduation ceremony. “Learning how to be a valuable member of a nonprofit board is an important and carefully taught part of the program, but the community-immersion aspect of Leadership York is what makes it truly special and worthwhile.”
The Leadership York Training Program is a nine-month, experiential course on York County history and community issues that provides participants the opportunity to fine-tune their leadership skills, enhance their knowledge, and receive guidance in choosing and applying for a board, elected, or appointed position.
