We are pleased to welcome Attorney Martin R. Siegel to lead the Environmental Law Group in providing counsel to the firm’s local, regional and national clients.
Attorney Siegel brings 22 years of environmental law experience at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), where he served as Assistant Counsel in the Southcentral Regional Office. In that role, he was responsible for advising DEP programs that implemented environmental cleanups, sewage planning, water permitting and enforcement, radiation protection, and waste management in 15 counties across southcentral Pennsylvania. Attorney Siegel has litigated numerous matters before the Environmental Hearing Board and has practiced extensively before the Commonwealth Court. Additionally, he served as a mediator for the Office of General Counsel’s Mediation Program, which assists disputing parties with reaching mutually acceptable agreements.
Prior to joining DEP, Attorney Siegel worked with a number of Federal agencies, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in Atlanta, and the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest Laboratory at the Hanford nuclear site in Washington State. In addition, Attorney Siegel served as a law clerk for the Commonwealth Court. He holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins University, a Juris Doctor degree from the Temple University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Attorney Siegel also serves on a number of non-profit boards of directors.
