October 5, 2021, kicked off the virtual, three-day Paving the Way for Educational Success 2021 Conference. On October 6, 2021, Dr. Leigh Dalton co-presented with Ms. Missy Gosnell, Program Liaison and Foster Care Coordinator at the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. The duo discussed: On the Road Again: A Collaborative Approach to Crafting Foster Care Transportation Plans that Address More Than Transportation.
What if your foster care transportation plans extended beyond the border of your county? This interactive session was designed to provide insight into what one area of Pennsylvania is doing to ensure that transportation plans encompass best practices and reach across county lines. The session offered participants the opportunity to brainstorm how such strategies might work in their area of the commonwealth.
Those who benefitted by attending:
School district foster care points of contact, homeless liaisons, child welfare agency points of contact, child welfare private providers, shelter staff, educators, school social workers, pupil services personnel, school counselors, and any other professionals working with children and youth experiencing homelessness and children and youth in foster care were encouraged to attend.
