It wasn’t long ago that Agricultural Attorney Sarah Doyle participated York County’s 4-H program. In fact, she spent over 7 years as a member of the Lamb Club and a year in the Beef Club, raising breeding and market animals to show at the 4-H Round-Up and York Fair.
That’s why she was excited for the opportunity to step back into the saddle and support the next generation of 4-Hers during the York County 4-H Livestock Sale on August 14, 2017.
“On behalf of Stock and Leader’s Ag Team, I was proud to attend the sale and help support such a great program,” Sarah explained. “We ended up purchasing a 258 lb.pig from 4-Her Wiley Wilt who worked extremely hard to raise a high-quality animal.”
4-Hers use the money raised for a number of different initiatives like paying expenses incurred while raising the animal, their next project, or even their college fund.
“Purchasing a 4-Her’s animal is a valuable way to support 4-H and its mission,” said Doyle. “Personally, I would not be where I am today without 4-H and the skills I gained from being a member, so I always try to buy animals or support in other ways to give back.”
